How our budget is managed

As a small village school, we work hard to make every pound count for our pupils. The school budget is set annually by the Headteacher and Consortium Manager and approved by the governing body, which then monitors income and expenditure throughout the year. Governors receive regular budget monitoring reports and challenge spending decisions to make sure that the school is providing good value for money and that resources are directed towards the best possible outcomes for the children in our care. Each year the governing body also completes the Department for Education's Schools Financial Value Standard, a self-assessment of how well the school manages its finances. It is agreed by the full governing body, signed by the Chair of Governors and submitted to Essex County Council.
